A message from the President
This edition reflects the strength of our ENAEE community and its growing international engagement. I warmly invite all members to take part in the ENAEE General Assembly on 15 May, while also highlighting the value of recent exchanges with partners in Central Asia done by CAAAE, the important discussions held at the CTI Annual Conference, and the remarkable sustained contribution of MÜDEK to quality assurance and international recognition in engineering education.
I also encourage you to move all universities with accredited programmes to join the EUR-ACE Connect in Istanbul on 4–5 June, an excellent opportunity to strengthen cooperation among universities with EUR-ACE-accredited programmes. Finally, I thank all members for their continued support and invite you to contribute to future editions of the ENAEE Newsletter.
José Carlos Quadrado
ENAEE General Assembly
The ENAEE General Assembly will be held online on Teams on 15 May, 10:00 – 12:00 CEST.

CAAAE
ENAEE President José Quadrado attended CAAAE’s international conference entitled ‘Europe – Central Asia: Training competitive professionals for the international labour market’ in February. His attendance helped to strengthen the partnership and deepen the dialogue between ENAEE and CAAAE. José was able to deliver presentations, lead seminars and share experience from across Europe.
CAAAE is working to strengthen international cooperation among engineering communities across Europe and Central Asia and this conference was a key part of that, along with contributing to improving the quality of engineering education and further developing quality assurance systems.

CTI Annual Conference
CTI’s Annual Conference was held on 9-10 February 2026 in La Rochelle, with the theme ‘Training for transformation: engineers at the heart of regional dynamics’.
This event, redesigned to encourage interactivity between participants, brought together nearly 450 stakeholders from the world of higher education and engineering: engineering HEIs, institutional, economic and political partners, and CTI experts.
Over the course of two days, they discussed the pivotal role of engineers, rooted in regional dynamics but confronted with national, European and international challenges.
Several round tables and a dozen workshops addressed various issues: diversity of engineer profiles, international shortages, attractiveness, competitiveness, sovereignty, and the strategies of the various stakeholders to address these issues.
CTI also presented the annual figures for the 2025-26 accreditation campaign, its updated reference framework and the continuation of simplification measures for the coming campaign.

Spotlight on Türkiye’s MÜDEK
MÜDEK, Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs is a non-governmental organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of engineering education in Türkiye by means of accreditation and evaluation and providing information services for engineering education programs in various disciplines.
MÜDEK aims to contribute to the well-being of society by training better educated and qualified engineering graduates who possess the necessary technical competencies and ethical values.
MÜDEK’s core activities include:
- Accreditation of undergraduate (BSc level) and graduate (MSc level) engineering programs.
- Conducting training workshops for program evaluators.
- Organizing seminars to inform institutions about its educational standards, which are in line with global standards.
MÜDEK started evaluating and accrediting engineering programs in Türkiye in 2003 and evaluated 1807 programs up to 2025. 370 programs from 73 HEI’s have now MÜDEK accreditation.
MÜDEK’s international standing is solidified through its relationship with the ENAEE and Washington Accord of International Engineering Alliance (IEA).
MÜDEK has been a member of ENAEE since 2007 was officially authorized by ENAEE to award the EUR-ACE Bachelor label in 2009 and Master label in 2024. Since receiving authorization, MÜDEK has been highly prolific in awarding EUR-ACE labels. It has awarded since 2007 more than 1600 labels. As of 2025 all 370 programs which hold active MÜDEK accreditation, hold concurrently the EUR-ACE label for the duration of their accreditation period and are recognised by other authorised agencies.
MÜDEK was also chosen by Washington Accord (WA) signatories of the International Engineering Alliance as a full signatory of WA in 2011. Since then, a program accredited by MÜDEK is recognized as substantially equivalent to programs in the jurisdictions of other WA signatories.
Through all these efforts, MÜDEK ensures that a graduate from a “MÜDEK-accredited” program is recognized both locally and globally as having met the educational basis of a competent engineer.
MÜDEK will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its establishment next year. Its endeavours in these respects will continue with enhancement for the next quarter of a century.
EUR-ACE Connect
The EUR-ACE Connect event will take place on 4-5 June in Istanbul. It is an international networking event for EUR-ACE accredited engineering programmes where you can:
- Expand and initiate partnerships with universities from more than 60 countries where EUR-ACE accreditation is present.
- Foster cooperation based on trust in quality, as all participating programmes hold international EUR-ACE accreditation.
- Strengthen the recognition of your programmes and increase their attractiveness for students, employers and partners.
